Who we are

SYSBalear is a technology consultancy delivering end-to-end IT services: systems, networks, security, cloud, preventive maintenance and web services. We support our clients from the design and conception of their infrastructure all the way to its implementation, optimisation and day-to-day maintenance. We don't come in to patch things up, we come in to understand the business and build the technological foundation it stands on.

We're not the department that shows up only when something breaks. We're the team that designs things so they don't break, and that's there, with a name and a face, when needed. We work with everyone from small businesses to large hotel groups, always with the same standard: do things properly.

We're based in Mallorca, but the way we work was born from an international career. That gives us a perspective rarely found in a local provider: the demands of the most critical environments applied to the business fabric of the Balearic Islands, with the closeness of someone who knows you by name.

We have a rule we've kept since day one: we won't sell you services you don't need. We analyse your real situation, your requirements and your needs, and propose the right solution for each case, no more, no less. If something adds no value to your business, we'll tell you, even if it means billing less.

Track record: from 1999 to today

It all began in 1999, in the thick of the Y2K (Year 2000) preparations, when half the industry was eyeing its systems with concern. That was the baptism: learning that infrastructure isn't a luxury, it's the backbone of a business, and that when it fails, it isn't a computer that fails, it's the whole company.

For twelve years, Sergi was Systems Administrator at Picis Research & Development, a clinical and hospital software multinational. More than a decade responsible for the infrastructure and security of hospital systems, environments where a failure isn't an inconvenience, it's a real risk to people, taking on ever more responsibility and technical leadership, working alongside the Barcelona, Paris and Boston offices.

After that journey, around fifteen years ago Sergi moved to Mallorca and founded SYSBalear from scratch. What began as a vocation at the turn of the millennium is today a consultancy with 28 years of accumulated craft, put to the service of businesses across the Balearic Islands and anyone who needs us.

Four cities, one international experience

The SYSBalear story is written across four cities. Barcelona was the origin, where the vocation and the first major projects were born. Boston, headquarters of Picis R&D, was the school of international projects and the most demanding healthcare environments. Paris brought the European offices and multi-country coordination. Mallorca is the current base, where the company was born and where the project lives today.

Boston and Paris aren't our offices today: they're heritage. They're the years of working shoulder to shoulder with top-tier technical teams on both sides of the Atlantic, coordinating different time zones, languages and regulations over the same critical infrastructure.

That international experience is what we now apply, with discretion, to every local client. A Mallorca hotel, a clinic or a law firm benefits today from the standards forged managing hospital systems between Europe and the United States.

Our knowledge was forged in the field: almost three decades solving real problems in environments where nothing can fail. We study, test and master every technology we touch, not to collect certificates, but to keep your business running, always.

The learning never stops: every new tool and every advance in the sector, we learn it inside out and put it to work. The best proof is what we build: our own AI, Penny, and hundreds of infrastructures that now run themselves. If it can be done with technology, we do it.

What we do

More than 25 years designing and managing networks for every kind of business environment. Each infrastructure is mapped out as a whole: servers, subnets, domains, users, permissions, replicas and firewalls, all fitting together as a single piece. We picture the entire network before touching a single cable, and that global view is what avoids the mistakes others only discover when it's too late.

Our track record speaks for itself: more than 500 server, network and infrastructure deployments, more than 200 cloud migrations, and countless security, preventive maintenance and optimisation projects.

We master both worlds. Windows and Linux, and integrate them with the cloud in hybrid architectures. From a hardened Active Directory domain to a high-availability virtualisation cluster, by way of the backup that will one day prevent a disaster, we work every layer with the same level of detail.
