The engine room that never shuts down

We design, manage and harden the infrastructure that keeps your business running: servers, networks, virtualization, backups and cloud. With 28 years of craft and 500+ real implementations, we turn fragile systems into infrastructure that simply works. And it is watched 24/7 by Penny, our own AI.

Infrastructure that is engineered, not improvised

When everything works, it looks like magic. In reality it is engineering: layers of servers, segmented networks, virtualization, backups and access control working silently so you never have to think about them. Most companies only remember infrastructure exists on the day it fails.

We work so that day never comes. Every project starts with a real audit of your situation, a design scaled to your business and a documented implementation. We do not sell boxes: we build systems that withstand growth, seasonal peaks and the unexpected.

Segmented corporate networks and access control
Virtualization with VMware, Hyper-V and Proxmox
Daily backups and constant monitoring

Security built in from the first cable

Infrastructure and security are not separate departments: they are the same thing. That is why every network we design is born segmented, with Fortinet, Mikrotik or Cisco firewalls, hardened Active Directory domains and role-based access policies. Protection is not a later patch, it is part of the blueprint.

We run periodic security audits, close entry vectors and leave every system with a minimal attack surface. More than 25 years designing and managing networks have taught us exactly where an attacker always looks.

Our approach: audit, size, document

We never start a project by selling hardware. We start by understanding your business: which processes depend on which systems, where the bottlenecks are and what would happen tomorrow if something went down. That initial infrastructure audit is the foundation for everything else, because managing well what you do not understand is impossible.

From the diagnosis, we size every element to your reality: no over-provisioned servers you pay for and never use, no undersized resources that choke in high season. We design, implement and document every change, so the knowledge stays in your house and not in one person's head.

We work with methodology, not improvisation: configuration version control, planned change windows and a clear record of what was touched and why. It is the difference between IT maintenance that adds order and one that piles up patches.

Sizing tailored to your business, with no excess
Documented implementation and change control
Plan prioritized by risk and impact

Monitoring and proactive response

Modern systems administration does not wait for the phone to ring. We monitor the state of servers, networks, services and backups in real time, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and act on weak signals before they become incidents: a disk starting to degrade, a service consuming too much, a backup that never finishes.

That proactive response changes the economics of support. Instead of paying for emergencies once everything has stopped, we prevent the stop. When intervention is needed, the technician arrives with context already prepared by the monitoring, so response time is measured in minutes, not hours.

Real-time monitoring 24/7/365
Threshold alerts and anomaly detection
Intervention before the problem reaches you
Short response times with prepared context

Disaster recovery that is actually tested

A backup that has never been restored is not a backup: it is a hope. That is why every infrastructure we manage includes daily backups, retention designed for your sector and, above all, restores tested periodically. A disaster recovery plan is only worth something if it works on the bad day.

We define with you realistic objectives for how long you can be down and how much data you can afford to lose, and we design the backup and recovery strategy to meet them. On-site and off-site copies, ransomware protection and a clear procedure to get back on your feet in hours, not days.

Daily on-site and off-site backups
Restores tested periodically, not just on paper
Defined objectives for time and data loss
Backup protection against ransomware
// 06

Virtualization and high availability

We consolidate physical servers onto virtualization platforms with VMware, Hyper-V or Proxmox, which reduces hardware costs, simplifies maintenance and speeds up recovery: a virtual machine is restored or moved far faster than a physical server.

For the systems your business cannot afford to lose, we design high-availability schemes: redundancy, automatic failover and replication, so if a node fails, the service stays up. The goal is clear: a hardware failure should be an invisible formality, not a crisis.

Virtualization with VMware, Hyper-V and Proxmox
Server consolidation and hardware savings
High-availability clusters and automatic failover
Replication for fast recovery
// 07

Infrastructure security

Infrastructure and security are the same thing, and we protect it in layers: next-generation firewalls, network segmentation, hardened Active Directory, role-based access control, continuous patching and encryption where it belongs. Every entry vector we close is one less door for an attacker.

We complement prevention with vigilance: monitoring detects anomalous behavior, odd logins, unusual traffic, repeated attempts, and lets us react before an incident escalates. More than 25 years designing and managing networks have taught us exactly where anyone trying to get in always looks.

Hardened Active Directory and role-based permissions
Continuous patching and attack-surface reduction

Infrastructure by sector

Every sector has different rules and we know them on the ground. In healthcare, availability and confidentiality are non-negotiable. In hospitality, high season multiplies the load and a downed system is money lost at the front desk and in bookings. In nautical, reliable connectivity on board and ashore. In legal, integrity and traceability of every document.

For SMEs in any field, the goal is the same: infrastructure that simply works, without needing an in-house IT department. We design what each business truly needs, no more and no less, with the demand of someone who has run systems where downtime had serious consequences.

Healthcare: high availability and confidentiality
Hospitality: stable performance in high season
Nautical: reliable connectivity on board and ashore
Legal and SMEs: integrity, traceability and simplicity

Why SYSBalear

28 years of craft cannot be improvised. Behind SYSBalear there are more than 500 real implementations and more than 200 completed cloud migrations, plus an uncommon background: 12 years as a systems administrator in R&D for clinical-hospital software across Barcelona, Paris and Boston, where downtime was not a metric, it was a risk to people.

That demand is now our factory standard. We are not a provider that shows up when something breaks: we are the team that keeps it from breaking. We speak plainly, with no unnecessary jargon, and leave every system documented so you have real control, not dependency.

Frequently asked questions

Do you only work in Mallorca?

We are based in Mallorca and provide on-site service across the Balearic Islands, but we manage infrastructure remotely for clients anywhere. Much of the administration, the 24/7 monitoring and the auto-remediation with Penny happens remotely and proactively, without waiting for anyone to travel.

We already have an in-house IT person, do you overlap?

No. We typically complement each other: your in-house team knows the business, we bring specialization in networks, virtualization, security and cloud, plus 24/7 oversight. We define together who does what and document everything so nobody depends on a single person.

What happens if a server goes down at 3 a.m.?

Penny watches your systems 24/7/365 and, for many incidents, detects and auto-repairs them before you even notice. When a human is needed, there is an expert technician behind it. The goal is not to react fast, it is to keep the problem from happening at all.

What response times do you offer?

Since much of the work is proactive and remote, many incidents are resolved before you notice them. When intervention is needed, the technician arrives with context already prepared by the monitoring, so we act within minutes. Concrete times are agreed according to the criticality of each system and put in writing.

Is the 24/7 monitoring really continuous?

Yes, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with no blind spots at dawn and no on-call staff falling asleep. Penny watches servers, networks, services, backups and security without interruption, and detects weak signals before they turn into outages. That continuity is exactly what a human alone cannot sustain.

Do you work on-site or remotely?

Both. Administration, monitoring and many repairs are done remotely, quickly and without waiting. When an intervention needs a physical presence, cabling, hardware, deployments, we travel across all the Balearic Islands. We always pick the fastest way to resolve, not the most convenient for us.

Which sectors do you have experience in?

Healthcare, hospitality, nautical, education, legal and SMEs across very different fields. Each sector has its own demands, clinical availability, hotel high-season peaks, on-board connectivity, document integrity, and we design the infrastructure each one needs, with the rigor of someone who comes from environments where downtime had serious consequences.

How do we get started?

With an audit of your current infrastructure: servers, network, backups, security and risk points. From there we deliver a clear diagnosis and a prioritized plan, with no commitments and no unnecessary jargon. You set the pace.
